@Amarnath, AJAY, Arun, Gaurav- You guys are very busy and lazy to write so I am going to write what is it like to be moderator of India community, my way so don't complaint if I say anything which is wrong according to you in the following paragraphs.
First of all, getting moderator privileges of India community itself is such a difficult thing. There are so many things that are looked in an individual before s/he is selected. If getting selected is difficult, moderating the community is more difficult than that.
Being a moderator of India community you have to look at so many things. You can't afford to do a single mistake. A single mistake can earn you many titles, like 'biased', 'idiot', 'dictator' and many other titles which are quite abusive in nature!
Deleting spams is so irritating, there are so many ads that you utilise 75% of time in deleting them. Rest of the time you need to go through complaints and sensitive threads. if some time is left, you can participate:P
Moderating India comunity is not a privilege but it is a challenge. one wrong step and the members will be all over you. Its human nature to make mistakes and its human nature to shout at others mistake, ignoring the mistakes you have done/are doing!
If you are a moderator, you can't lose your cool, you can't go personal with anyone even if you are literally abused. This is one of the most challenging part. The members you look after shout like anything and you still have to be cool. You can't hit them back!
Now, if you do everything right(not possible for any human) then you are sure to earn a lot of respect from the members. Hey, members also have a soft corner for the moderators, especially the girls. So, enjoy the soft corner and ignore the abuses and titles you earn!

Moderating India community is fun .
Suku left it cause of studies but i enjoy it. People are rally lovely one. I mean nobody ever dared to bash me ever B-) . The only Mod that is bashed is Arun :D

Don't Remeber about amr or ajay being bashed. But I haven't been bashed yet. those who tryed got the taste of it themselves :P
amar was bashed when we just joined coz he removed a member for using abusive word
ajay was bashed in worst mod thread and in a thread by fakie who later pn got bashed and banned by me:P
Suki, you really did a great job of moderating the community... though it is not possible to keep the community totally clean, but at least now we have lesser no of abusive members & ad thrds :)
Hope you will continue your mod activities after completion of your exams/ semesters ;)

I s'pose moderating is fun at times. Althought that means u cannot bash any one.
People tend to forget u r a member and always r looking to convince how they are better mod then u..

Hey suki...u again took the moderatorship and again revoked it...After that i m writting this..I think it's a preplanned strategy...I dont know who else r involved in this..

just that i m busy again and need to get de-addicted from orkut
no1 knows when i leave and when i plan of return!
Suku left moderatorship, that was bad for I370 community (he was a good mod, helped a lot in improving community quality). But may be addiction of orkut, and restriction of following rules as a mod were too big a price to pay just to gain some abuses :p (Many appreciated his work as well, but good things better be ignored :D )
Hope someday orkut will give some monitory/other incentives to attract qualified moderators like suki.
Best of luck to suki for his orkut life and addiction and hope it should never impact his study/career negatively.
