ATKT- Lifeline of Engineering students!

ATKT - Allowed to keep term. This is the best thing Engineering offers to students! This is the thing that students don't want but they can't go ahead without it. Some 'proud' engineers want this more than the want their gfs(considering the fact that non-males are not easily available and even if they are, it doesn't make any difference!). Those who want it are worthy Engineering students!

Let me explain what ATKT is. In Engineering if you fail in a subject(get a back), you have to re appear for it until and unless you clear it!(retests). Now there are some rules, you can't carry more than 3 backs and carry no back from last to last year. Say you are going to 3rd year, you can't carry any back from 1st year but you can proudly carry 3 from 2nd year. Isn't this great! It is popularly known as KT, a substitute for backlog or retests!

You might be thinking that I am speaking nonsense. How can one be proud even after failing to score 40% in one or more subject. Well, this is what Engineering is(especially if you are in Mumbai/Pune). The more KTs you have, the more respect you get! What about placements? Well, no body looks at the number of KTs here, all they see is your aptitude and percentage! So, it is very safe and healthy to get KTs!

Just think about it, you fail in one subject and you have a minimum of 2 more chances to clear the paper, where else will you get so many chances? In our college when results are out, people don't ask for percentage, they ask for the number of KTs. Believe it or not, in my college, it will be jackpot if you find any one who has got Engg. degree without getting a KT. 70% get their KTs in first year itself. I have 2 of them now. Today, after 8 1/2 hrs I have a KT exam(its almost 1.30AM now, exam starts at 10). Hell, what am I doing here? Well, this is the perfect time to express feeling about my lifeline.

So, if you are an Engineering student or you want to be one, don't feel bad if you have a KT, in fact feel proud of it. This is not a school but an Engineering college. Here no one is going to tease you for failing in subject(s), everyone is equal, there is no topper and there is no loser. My best friends have scored above 60%(here, getting 60% is extremely more than enough) and some have also got 4KTs. Still, we are equal, there is no difference among us!

Fail fail fail,i proudly fail
to get freed from this boring jail

But what can i do,classes are so bore,
i find it hard to take this torture anymore,

passing every time is not the rule
don't get mad, don't be a fool,
don't so easily enter the misery pool

And its not at all bad to fail,
its good for everyone,male or female,
being students,we have right to fail,
and so i give full fight to fail.

After this fall,i may fall again,
but don't worry,i feel no pain,
i am not going to come under the train,
the thought of suicide is not in my brain
