Mr. Ashish Dixit after watching advertisements urging people to plant trees got inspired and on a fine morning of June 1st, he decided to plant trees. He wanted to everything to save our mother nature, so he plant not 1 or 2 but 30 trees.
This step by him was supposed to reduce global warming, however it has shown increase in global warming, violence and gambling. As it turns out, little Ashish planted those trees in Farmville, a social networking game for nerds. He must have thought he has done enough to save Earth but here is how he went wrong.
1. He planted 30 trees using the BSNL super download speed connection of 30Kbps where "b" is for bits. This meant that he needed at least half an hour to buy and plant all of them. Half an hour of electricity and bandwidth was spent on something as silly as Farmville.
2. After planting 20 trees, little Ashish ran out of coins. So he bought coins by cash for 10 more trees. This gave money to zynga who invest in games like mafia wars that spread violence, prostitution and puts anti-social mentality in kids using that application. His donation has now made sure another criminal is born, maybe in your neighbourhood only.
3. The money also promotes gambling as Zynga has some kind of poker thing going on. People are getting bankrupt there as zynga gets more money thanks to ashish planting trees. People in poker have been hungry for money and coins. They have ruined their daily life just to get some virtual coins.
Zynga's strategy of luring users with what looks harmless application like farmville is paying off and their aim to have a world full of fights and gambling is very much on track. To make sure innocent kids like ashish don't get fooled, it is our duty to make sure such incidents are not repeated.
